7 of my Craziest Travel Moments from Study Abroad
Sneaking through a secret passageway, getting lost in Rome at 2 am, meeting the amazing Sara Bareilles, sobbing at a bar in Prague, the usual.
“She who travels has stories to tell.” Anyone who’s spent time traveling can probably attest to this old Irish proverb; I certainly can. Study abroad brought me growth, friendships, learning opportunities, and stories I’ll never forget. Here are a few of those stories, that are a little bit more on the crazy side.
1. Getting Lost on the Streets of Rome at 2 am
This was one of my first nights abroad. I had gone out to dinner with my school. If you’ve been to Italy, you probably know that dinner can last about four hours. So, upon leaving the restaurant at about midnight, I thought I’d make my way to the train station, but spend a bit of time exploring on the way; I knew exactly where the train station was, and I knew that it would take me just a few blocks away from my campus.
